The Challenge: Days 6 & 7

What can I say, I'm really starting to feel great about working out.  Yesterday, I actually broke out into a run while on the treadmill!! By the end of my 30 min workout, I was dripping sweat and feeling awesome.  I was not at all perturbed that it was 10 pm and I had a 3 year old that had gotten up, yet again.  Instead, I was so in my groove, I told her to sit in the bonus room, where I was working out, and play, then I put her back in bed when I was all done.  It was me time, afterall, and I was putting me first.  I only had 12 min left of my workout, so she could certainly go to bed a few extra minutes late.  This is new for me, by the way, putting myself first.  What an awesome feeling!
Today, I did my typical 15/15 split between the rowing machine and treadmill, but ran 7 of the 15 min I spent on the treadmill.  It was a painstakingly slow pace, but I did it nonetheless.  Now, this is a huge victory over my lungs, kegels, and mind (though, surprisingly, not as much as I would have thought - I thank the workout high for that).  My goal is to be able to kick up the pace a bit when I'm running as well as perhaps run an entire mile *gasp* (haven't done that since college, and it was a big victory over my lungs and mind, then, too).  So, with the conclusion of today, I have completed my first full week in the 5 for 365 challenge and I am feeling great!!  Thanks everyone for the encouragement and support, and for playing along - you are an important piece of my success.  51 more weeks to go!!

Way to go Kristel!!!! I started working out hard after Gary left and WOW it makes you feel great. I am down 45 pounds and still want to lose about 20 more before he comes home on break in Oct. I will keep checking on your progress as well.

Patti, that is so awesome!! I've been doing great so far, but had my first bad workout tonight and am feeling down about that. But, I know there are highs and lows in the business. I've had lots of highs recently, so it was about time for a low. Keep rockin' it and I will too :) Love ya!!
