I cannot believe that its been 3.5 weeks since my last update. Sorry for not being as on top of updating this blog as I should be. I am happy to report that although I have not been good at updating the blog regularly, I have been going strong with my 5 for 365 challenge. My knee is finally healed enough that I can start really getting sweaty again - YAY!
Last week, I started running again. This time, I am following the Couch to 5K program to avoid further injury. I've done all the workouts from week 1 and will be starting the week 2 workouts tomorrow. The hardest part of the first week of workouts was forcing myself to only run for 60 seconds at a time and then having to walk 90 seconds. I don't know why, but walking just doesn't do it for me, especially on a treadmill. I think I'd rather do about any other exercise than walking on a treadmill. But, if this is the path to getting fit, I'll do it. Because I am feeling it a bit in my knee after each run, I've been taking the off days pretty easy and sticking to mostly isometrics and/or walks.
Its hard to believe that its been almost 2 months since I took my pledge and I haven't faltered yet. I'll admit that there have been a few busy days, when I've almost forgotten and have been forced to do my workout (usually isometric) at midnight right before hopping into bed. Despite the overwhelming urge to just crawl into bed on these nights, I've been true to my pledge. I am really excited that I am able to run again and can't wait until my knee is strong enough to really get my heart pumping everyday!
