If at first you don't succeed....

I've failed. There, I said it. I've been dreading writing this since stopping my workout regimen in mid Oct. (Honestly, that's probably a big part of the reason I've avoided blogging about much of anything.) I could list lots of excuses why I stopped working out, but they'd be just that - excuses. And listing excuses doesn't do a thing to change the fact that I've failed. I've failed everyone (anyone?) following this blog, my friends who were rooting for me, my family, and most importantly, I've failed myself.

The only positive thing about failure is that it travels in tandem with fresh starts. Today is my fresh start. I've finally committed to starting my challenge anew. Same challenge - workout for a MINIMUM of 5 minutes everyday for the next 365 days. I'd say "wish me luck" but I don't need luck to get through this, I need perseverance. So, instead, send me your best wishes for continued strength and commitment toward my goal of a healthier life.

Today's workout: 10 min on the stationary bike at a good clip. Its not much, but its a start. I would like to start up the Couch to 5K again, but I need to learn from my past mistakes and take it slowly. First I'm going to start with just getting moving and in a week or so, I'll look at starting a little bit of running again.
